THYMOSIN ALPHA-1 10 MG — RECONSTITUTION & RESEARCH MEASUREMENT GUIDE
THYMOSIN ALPHA-1 10 MG — RECONSTITUTION & RESEARCH MEASUREMENT GUIDE
For laboratory research and educational reference only.
Compound: Thymosin Alpha-1
Vial Content: 10 mg
Diluent Volume: 3.0 mL bacteriostatic water
Final Concentration: Approximately 3.33 mg/mL
CONCENTRATION CALCULATION
10 mg ÷ 3.0 mL = approximately 3.33 mg/mL
Using a U-100 syringe for laboratory measurement:
1 unit = 0.01 mL
1 unit contains approximately 33.3 mcg
RESEARCH MEASUREMENT TABLE
300 mcg = 9 units = 0.09 mL
500 mcg = 15 units = 0.15 mL
For measurements of 10 units or less, a 30-unit or 50-unit syringe may provide clearer measurement markings.
RECONSTITUTION STEPS
-
Draw 3.0 mL of bacteriostatic water using a sterile syringe.
-
Slowly introduce the water down the inside wall of the vial. Avoid directing a forceful stream onto the lyophilized material or creating foam.
-
Gently swirl or roll the vial until the material has completely dissolved. Do not shake.
-
Label the vial with:
-
Compound name
-
Final concentration: approximately 3.33 mg/mL
-
Reconstitution date
-
Applicable storage instructions
-
-
Refrigerate the reconstituted material at 2–8 °C and protect it from direct light.
Follow the manufacturer’s certificate of analysis and stability documentation when determining storage duration. Do not rely on a universal seven-day expiry unless it is supported by the specific product’s validated stability data.
SUPPLY CALCULATIONS
Each 10 mg vial requires approximately 3.0 mL of bacteriostatic water.
3 vials require 9 mL
5 vials require 15 mL
6 vials require 18 mL
Suggested bacteriostatic-water quantities:
3 vials: 1 × 10 mL bottle
5 vials: 2 × 10 mL bottles
6 vials: 2 × 10 mL bottles
